The Best Romper for your Body Type this Summer

So who doesn’t love a good romper? We all know I do if you read my recent post about my favorite rompers for spring here. Rompers are perfect for summer because there are different ways to keep your outfit casual or dress it up.

Rompers are perfect for a great day-to-night look as well.

But, not all rompers are the same. I sometimes have a difficult time finding the right romper because of my slim build and extra long torso. I never know how it is going to fit, especially if I am shopping online.

Here are SIX simple tips to help you find the BEST romper for your body type:

1. Know your body

First things first, knowing your body type will help you better understand how rompers will potentially fit and will help you accentuate your body just right.

2. Pick what you want to accentuate

Choose which part of your body you want to accentuate. It can be your chest, your legs, or your waist, but never all three at the same time. Once you start to focus on showing off more then one asset your romper will start to look trashy.

3. Watch the fit in the crotch area

Nobody likes a super tight camel toe riding up your body. Plus, it’s uncomfortable. However, on the other hand, a crotch area that is too loose or hangs too low can look like you picked the wrong size or stepped out in your PJs.

Side Note: make sure to lift your arms up when trying on your romper to sure no one is getting a little show from behind.

4. Tight is not right

Rompers are not meant to be tight. They are meant to highlight your natural figure so don’t choose ones that fit too tight. Plus, no one wants to look like they are an acrobat at the circus. Breathing room = comfort!

5. The less busy the better

When choosing a romper, regardless of your body type, the less busy the better. Over exaggerated prints and patterns tend to take away from showing off your elegant features. Stick to solids on minimal patterns. Avoid stripes, loud colors, and busy patterns. This will help you accentuate your body and make the right kind of statement.

6. Think ahead

Many of you many know that rompers are not the most convenient clothing item. Especially when you wear them on a day you’ll be drinking a lot of liquid 😉 So think ahead about the environment you will be in before committing to wearing a romper. In addition, I usually plan on wearing spanx with all my rompers since they tend to be light colored thin fabrics.

Here are some of my favorite rompers:

I’ve always thought rompers looked so cute but got distressed when trying some on that were NOT flattering. I like your tips though and think I might give em another chance : )

Your romper is very cute. I have a hard time picking out rompers too but I have the opposite problem as you, I have an hourglass figure with a short torso and long legs, so it is hard to find one that doesn’t look too sexy or rides up too high.
