After what felt like over a month of traveling, I am finally back home in Los Angeles and getting back into my routine. If you read my last post you might already know that spent the past months traveling all over the place, from San Fransisco to Arizona, all the way to France, then off to New York. However, nothing was quite as magical as my staycation with my boyfriend Richie at the Marina Del Rey Hotel.
Sometimes you just need a vacation after a vacation, am I right? haha!
But seriously, most of my travels were work related filled with long and exhausting days. I knew when I got home that I would just want to cuddle up next to Richie and relax for a few days, which is why I planned a little staycation for us right in our own backyard of Marina Del Rey.
We indulged on a delicious dinner at SALT, splurged on a little room service and champagne, and spent the entire day next to the pool at the Marina Del Rey Hotel. It was exactly what we needed; some time to just relax and enjoy each others company. Plus, the views and food weren’t too bad either!
The best part about planning a staycation is that since you aren’t spending any money on traveling to your destination, you can spurge a little extra on desert and breakfast in your room (which I highly recommend by the way!)
The Marina Del Rey Hotel was everything I could have asked for a more, the staff were so incredible from check-in to check-out! They even let us enjoy the rest of the day by the pool after we checked out.
SALT
The Marina Del Rey Hotel has hands down one of the best restaurants in the area, SALT. It could stand alone as an amazing restaurant but, the fact that is it just steps away from the pool and our hotel room made it ever better!
PRO TIP: Make a reservation approx. 30 minutes before sunset and get ready for a truly amazing dinner view.
Food Recommendations
Personally, I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu but, let me tell you about a few of my favorites. First off, start with the mussels – not only are the DELICIOUS, but they give you more then enough to share with your date! Secondly, splurge on desert and you won’t regret it! We got the flourless chocolate cake and it was YUM! WE also indulged on the lobster pasta in between those two dishes and it was easily one of the best dishes I have an in a while!
Lastly, if you get the chance to stop in for brunch or lunch I 10/10 recommend the Croque Madame. I am still dreaming about the delicious cheese covered bread, and maybe get yourself a mimosa while you’re at it.
Things To Do
Since we are talking about a romantic staycation, I have to be honest, Richie and I did not do much site seeing. We spent time under the sun, by the pool, eating good food and drinking even better cocktails. However, there is endless amounts of fun to be had around the Marina Del Rey Hotel.
You can rent bikes for $5 to bike around the Marina and site see!
Spend a day in the cabanas by the pool with poolside drinks, or sip champagne on your balcony while you watch the sunset!
If you want to be a little more adventurous, I highly recommend heading to Mothers Beach and renting a kayak or paddle board for a few hours.
Trying to spurge? You could rent a boat for a private dining experience.
Wether you live in Los Angeles and are looking for the perfect staycation or you are visiting from out of town, I highly recommend choosing the Marina Del Rey Hotel for your next stay, trust me, you won’t regret it!
Looks so pretty!
