Ideas for how you can make the brides in your life feel special when their wedding or bachelorette party have been effected by COVID-19

Earlier this year I got one of the best phone calls I could have imagined, my high school best friend got engaged to the man of her dreams! Not too long after we spent countless hours planning out every detail of the wedding from location, to flowers, to how we’ll enjoy a bachelorette party. Then came March and her wedding, along with the whole world, came to a screeching halt and plans quickly changed.

A few weeks ago I posted on Instagram and asked you guys to share your ideas for how to make the brides in your life feel special! You guys had so many amazing ideas, I thought I’d put together a list of some of my favorites.

This was by far the most suggested idea! I think it is important to make the brides in our lives feel a little extra special right now. Weather its filling a box with her favorite snacks and sweet treats or maybe something sexy to slip into!

Pro tip: get all her friends or bridesmaids to pitch in so you don’t have foot the entire bill + give the care package a theme!

Some of my favorite ideas are: a date night in a box, a package of bachelorette party essentials, a kit to make her favorite cocktails, or a box of essentials for an at-home spa day!

This is probably our biggest must! Since we are crossing our fingers that she’ll have her wedding in September, wedding dress shopping simply couldn’t wait! We have both been dreaming of wearing BHLDN at our weddings since we were in high school, so we already knew they’d be our first stop. Thankfully they have virtual appointments available via Zoom which makes it easy for all of us to be with her while she shops for wedding dresses.

My best friends and I ended up doing this through BHLDN and honestly we could not recommend it more. Since we weren’t able to physically try on the dresses, it was nice to be paired up with a dress specialist would could answer all of our questions, and trust me there were TONs of questions once we got started. We were able to chat through what we could alter, what shoes would go best, get a better understanding of the fit and fabric of the dresses and so much more. Honestly, it felt like we were in the store together.

The best part is she still had her “moment.” You know? THE MOMENT. The one where she one shut up about one of the dresses and keeps bringing it back, then slowly she starts to realize its THE DRESS!? Yep, she found the dress, she had her moment and we were all able to be there for it. It was magical!

After the appointment we all got on Zoom again, popped champagne, celebrated and drooled over the dress she found.

I know times are weird now, but honestly I could not recommend BHLDN and their virtual appointments more! However, they are opening up their stores again in select cities, so you can see if yours is open here.

We are also planning another zoom call when the dress is delivered so we can be there when she tries it on (and of course pop the champagne again, hint hint: this is when we plan on sending her a care package!)
