The holidays are right around the corner and if you’re anything like myself you’re just beginning to think about what you’re going to wear this weekend. For my fellow fashionista-procrastinators, putting off figuring out what you’re going to wear for the holidays leave no option but to throw an outfit together with what is already in your closet. Because it is too late to order anything online and Lord knows I’m not going to step foot inside a mall this close to the holidays. Talk about a shopping nightmare.
I have put together some holiday outfit ideas with items you most likely already have in your closet! In addition, I am outlining some holiday staples that are easy to style.
Velvet
Velvet, perfect for the holidays. Not only that but it is on trend this fall/winter season. Velvet is everywhere. Velvet can be the perfect way to dress up an outfit just a little and not feel overdressed. Check out my favorite velvet pieces this season:
Jewel Tones
If you saw last weeks post with my little jewel-toned dress I already started talking about why jewel tones are perfect for the holidays. Jewel tones and holiday outfits go hand-in-hand, jewel tones will never be out of style (for the holiday season at least). Jewel tones are the perfect way to add some color to your holiday outfit. Here are a few of the jewel tones pieces I will bringing out this season:
Sequin
I usually save the sequin and sparkles NYE, but who doesn’t like to get more than one wear out of your NYE dress? Bring out your old new year’s dresses from years past and rock a little sparkle again this holiday season. Here are some sequined holiday essentials:
Embroidered Fabrics
Embroidered fabrics are huge this seaso
n. Anything that can be embroidered fashion designers are doing it. Embroidered velvet, embroidered denim, embroidered dresses, embroidered shoes, the list doesn’t end. It’s the perfect addition to and outfit to make it fit for the holidays. Here are a few staple pieces I recommend investing in this winter:
All Black
Still, don’t have anything to wear? There is no better go-to than an all black outfit, especially during this time of year. No matter what level of dressed up your family and friends like to get for the holidays. Just take a look at the outfit I threw together for this post. All of these pieces I have had for over a year.

Such a great post! You’re suggestions are so good, and I love your photos too! I’m also glad I’m not the only one who hates shopping this close to the holidays! Haha, it’s just so crazy in the malls at the moment!
Thank you, I know shopping during the holidays is seriously a nightmare! Thank god for online shopping + Free shipping 🙂
Cute look.
