As I was going through my closet and planning outfits for blog posts I realized that I love corduroy.

Corduroy pants,

corduroy skirts,

corduroy overalls,

anything corduroy you bet you can find in my closet.

I don’t know if anyone has officially said it yet,  but if not you heard it here first, corduroy is back in fashion. Thank you 70s fashionistas and rock bands for your inspiration!

I scored these navy, corduroy wide-leg pants from the thrift store a few weeks ago and I have never been more excited. I also had no idea what I was going to wear with it, I had never bought such unique looking pants before.

You can rock it!

As I have mentioned before, I don’t usually purchase an item until I can think of a handful of outfits and items I would pair it with. Using this method while shopping helps me stick to buying clothes I know I will wear. However, these pants were the exception. I did a lot of scouring through Pinterest when I got home, hoping to be inspired with ideas of how to style these pants. Unfortunately, not many people have pinned outfits related to “wide-leg corduroy pants.” Which then led to trying on the pants with virtually every top in my closet until I found ones I thought paired well together.

My point being: sometimes when you love an item of clothing and it feels a little out of your comfort zone, just go for it! You can rock it!

I used to grab funky pieces of clothing and say “I wish I could rock this.”

Well, I am telling you, you can and you should rock whatever the hell you want! Sometimes all it takes a little inspiration and a lot of bad experimental outfits until you find just the right combination.
