Hello, beautiful people! It has been a while since my last post but if you remember in my post “Sweater Weather“, I mentioned that I would be showing you how to style one piece of clothing multiple ways.
Whenever I go shopping I make a point, when trying on clothing, to come up with two to three different outfits or ways I could style the one item. Don’t you hate when you buy something you absolutely love but then only ever where it once? Me too! That is why I am launching this style series “1 : 3 ways” to walk you through how I piece together outfits and make sure they will be worn multiple times.
The Corduroy Skirt
Can you tell I like corduroy?
I got this skirt here, but I also am seriously in love with this one. Any item that you can dress up or down is worth a splurge in my mind. In addition, because of the color of this skirt it works well across multiple seasons (however, that may only because I live in Southern California and it’s still 80 degrees out.) Throw a sweater or over-sized t-shirt for a comfier look. Or pair it with booties and an off the shoulder tee to wear it going out with friends for drinks.
Here are the looks:
Needless to say, I have been living in not only this skirt, but jean jackets. With the warm fall weather in San Diego, this is the perfect casual transition from day to night and its comfortable enough to wear all day long. Once the temperature starts to cool down in the evening I just throw the jacket over my shoulders.

Skirt (Free People) / Strapless-Tee (Free People) / Jean Jacket (Forever 21) / Shoes (Steve Madden ON SALE!)
I originally wore this outfit to KAABOO, a music festival in Del Mar, California but it is also perfect for a casual evening out with friends.
Get the Look #2:
Skirt (Free People) / T-Shirt (I got this from a boutique, similar here) / Shoes (Steve Madden ON SALE!)
The best way to dress up a casual corduroy skirt is with a pair of cute strappy booties and a black off the shoulder top. This shirt wasn’t originally off the shoulder, but after a little bit of stretching, it made for the perfect off the shoulder crop top. Perfect for a night out.
Get the Look #3:
Skirt (Free People) / T-Shirt (Originally from Nordstroms, similar here or here) / Booties (Exact pair I found at a boutique, similar here or as heels here)
If you haven’t already checked out my post “Sweater Weather,” take a look. I show you how adding a sweater with this skirt can make it the perfect cozy, warm look for fall. So technically I am giving you FOUR ways to style this skirt.
I hope you enjoyed them all!
Love the way you styles hun. It looks great all 3 ways. Such a unique colour too. Love it!
