How to style day 3 hair with Waterl<ess

Between the holiday shopping, late night parties, present wrapping, and holiday baking, this time of year it can be hard to fit in a good hair washing day. If you’re anything like me, you live for a good dry shampoo and conditioner that can give your hair a quick refresh to cut down your styling time!

Why you should take a break between washes

It’s not too long ago that I was washing my hair every day and struggling to find time to blow-dry, curl and style. Not only does skipping a wash save you so much time, it also cuts down on water waste, and protects your pricey, colored hair. It also helps to keep your hair healthy longer since you aren’t stripping the important nutrients and oils from your hair every day.

Dry shampoo better manages natural oils

Dry shampoo absorbs the oil in your hair without stripping it of moisture. This makes dry shampoo better at managing the natural oils in your hair. You can even add dry conditioner into your haircare routine to bring back added moisture to your hair and help detail your ends without water!

If you’re new to dry shampoo and conditioner, my personal favorite is from a new brand I have discovered, Waterl<ss.

There’s an incredible story behind the brand, too! Designed by a small group of scientists, the Waterl<ss collection was created to improve non-wash hair days for a diverse group of women and hair types. The products were tested out in Cape Town, South Africa during the water crisis of 2018 – talk about perfect timing! Waterl<ss provided South African women a solution to getting beautiful, clean hair without using a single drop of water. Regardless of your reason for skipping the wash, you will always save yourself time, reduce your water use, and help save your hair from the damaging cycle of washing, drying and styling your hair. You can read more about in on their website.

How to Style

Styling day 3 (or 4 or 5 and so on!) hair is so simple when you don’t have to worry about drying time. Here a little step-by-step guide on how I use my favorite Waterl<ss products.

The Dry Shampoo

Start with addressing any excess oil in your hair. I usually grab my Waterl<ss Dry Shampoo Foam. I use about a walnut size amount and focus on working the product through my roots, specifically targeting the extra greasy areas. After it absorbs, I brush it through my hair for a refreshed look!

The Conditioner

There isn’t always a one-size fits hair product when it comes to styling your hair between showers which is why I love my new Waterl<ss Weightless Smooth Dry Conditioner. I use the dry conditioner to target the ends of my hair and bring back any moisture! It also helps to detangle and smooth out frizz, which is perfect.

I love using these products together because it helps me target two different problem areas: the build-up of oil near my scalp and my tangled frizzy ends.

Brush it Through

After you have added all your product in your hair make sure to give it a good brush through to work in the product. This will help the product absorb better and give your roots some texture. Keep brushing until you get your desired look and texture! If you are new to dry shampoo, I would start with a small amount and work in more as needed.

Style

Now, for the fun part! Style your hair with your desired hair style. I love to curl my day-three-hair because I find that my hair curls better after I have added the dry shampoo and conditioner!
