Finally, the first cold and rainy weekend! Fall is finally here in Southern California. At least for a little while.
Before the rainy weather I had been playing around with how to style fall outfits for warmer weather and this look was one of my absolute faves. The bell-sleeved turtle neck has me feeling cozy, while the jean dress keeps it casual for the warmer weather. The perfect balance.
Style for the Weather
The past four years I have spent my fall and winter season living in Flagstaff, AZ. A part of the world that actually experiences four seasons like leaves changing colors and snow. I became the master of layering for cold weather. Sweaters, leggings, scarfs, boots and jackets were my staples; while still stylish. However, this fall I found those staples don’t quite fit in with the warm weather, which has led me to get creative this year!
It is important to remember style yourself for the weather, as well as the season. Fall fashion is one of my favorite seasons every year, but walking the streets in pants, sweaters and big coats isn’t exactly practical when it is over 70 degrees outside.
Tips and Tricks
Here are some tips and tricks on how to style outfits for the fall, even when the weather is warm.
- Stick to the on-trend fall colors (olive, rust, camel, black, etc.)
- Light weight sweaters
- Try out statement floral patterns this fall
- or try layering your dresses, add a coat, undershirt or sweater to your look!
